 Squeaks Mousery

Congratulations on the adoption of your new pet mice/mouse.

All the mice are brought up in a family situation, around animals and children, which is why these mice are so friendly!

What can mice eat?

•         Fresh fruits and vegetables: Apples, pears, banana, melons, stone fruits, citrus fruits, broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, endive, carrots, Bok Choy/ other Asian greens, celery, parsley, berries, tomato, fresh corn, beans and peas.

•         Small amounts of good quality mouse/rat food (try to ensure that these products have a protein content of at least %16 & fat content of 4-5%).

•         Access to fresh clean water at all times.

•         TREATS: Cereals, grains, seeds, breads, biscuits, sweets, cooked pasta and rice, only in small amounts.

•         Any changes to diet should be made gradually as to avoid gastrointestinal upset.

•         The mice you have purchased have been raised on different types of fruit and veg, Vetafarm Rodent Origins and Laucke Mills which can be purchased from us here.

What can’t mice eat?

DO NOT FEED THESE TO YOUR MICE

•         Chocolate

•         Peanuts

•         Acidic fruits (oranges, lemons, etc)

•         Acidic vegetables (onions, garlic, etc)

•         Raw Meats

•         Food designed for other small mammals.

Bedding:

The mice you have purchased have been raised with Premium Pet Bedding that is available to be brought from our store here.   

Also, if you are using wood shavings, they need to be untreated.

Cleaning:

•         Once a fortnight, fully clean the cage with diluted vinegar, no other chemicals. This includes toys, tunnels and other accessories and necessities, however you must dry them before putting them back in.

•         Spotcheck every 2-3 days for areas that are wetter or dirtier (e.g. due to urine or faeces) and clean this area.

Handling:

•         Make sure to handle your mice daily, as to maintain their hand-rearing progress.

•         Never pick up your mice by their tail.
